4. Tar and Gravel Roofing

This type of roofing may also be called as Built-up Roofing. This is one of the oldest roofing systems. It is installed by alternating asphalt or tar layers and supporting fabrics on the roof. Aside from its long lifespan, it is known also for its waterproofing ability. It can provide protection from UV. On top of these advantages, this type of roofing needs very minimal upkeep after installation.
